Connecting via SSH to your Linux account

Here is a step-by-step guide to connecting your Linux account using SSH.

Steps for Linux and macOS Users

Open the terminal application and enter the following command: user@server-ip. Replace the placeholders with your username and IP address.
Following a prompt warning message, i.e., "The authenticity of the host 'xxx' cannot be established," to continue with the connection, enter 'yes'.
Next, enter the password and press Enter. Once you have entered the required credentials, you will have successfully logged in via SSH.

Steps for Windows

For Windows, there is no built-in SSH client available, so you can either install or use PuTTY.
Open PuTTY and enter the IP address or hostname in the "Host Name" section. Leave the port (22) and connection type (SSH) as default. Then click the "Open" button below.
If you are doing this for the first time, you will receive a dialog box regarding the PuTTY security alert. Click the "Yes" button below.
Once the SSH connection has been established, it will prompt for the username, followed by the password. Once you have finished entering the information, you will have successfully logged in to SSH.
