How to reset file ownership in DirectAdmin?

  • Sign in to your eWallHost account, go to ‘Account’ in top right side corner and choose ‘Login’
  • Click ‘Services’ to view the hosting packages under your account.
  • From the active hosting packages listed, click view on the right side of the hosting you need to review.
  • In the next page, click ‘Login to DirectAdmin’ button to manage your hosting.
  • Click on Files icon on the right corner in Direct Admin.
  • Go to the file directory where you would like to reset the file ownership. In this example, we are going to change the Apache ownership to user.
  • Resetting the ownership.

                                                               i.      Tick on the box at select column.

                                                             ii.      Tick on “Recursive” box at the bottom panel if you want the file inside the folder change ownership too.

                                                            iii.      Click “Reset Owner” button.

  • Your file ownership is changed now.
  • Setting file permission :

                                                               i.      Tick on the box at select column.

                                                             ii.      Edit the permission to “777“. Picture below shows “755”, change the value to “777”.

                                                            iii.      Click on “Set permission“.

  • Your file permission have been set now.
