"A" records (also known as host records) are the central records of DNS. These records link a domain, or subdomain, to an IP address.
The acronym for the A record is "address record." It is one of the most popular types of data in DNS.
The main purpose of file A is to bind the domain to the 32-bit IPv4 address. When a user enters a domain name on a website, the browser checks the DNS system to find the IPv4 address corresponding to the domain by looking at the A record.
After obtaining the IP address, the browser can establish a connection with the server to receive the content of the website or access the requested service. Essentially, the main purpose of file A is to enable the browser to enter the correct web page.
