How to Password protect a directory in Plesk?

  • Sign in to your eWallHost account by clicking on the "Login" option located in the top right corner.
  • After logging in, navigate to the "Services" section to access a list of hosting packages associated with your account.
  • To access your hosting package, click the ">" symbol located under the "Action" column next to your desired option. Then, select "Hosting Info" and click on "Web Hosting."
  • On the Plesk home page, click the website and domain on the left side. Under your domain, you will find a list from which you can click on the password-protected directories.

To create password protection for a directory, follow these steps:

  • On the top, click on "Add Protected Directory."
  • Fill in the required information, including the directory name that you want to protect and the title of the protected area.
  • Once you have finished entering the information, click the OK button below.
  • After completing the process, click the newly added directory to add the username and password.
  • Click the "Add User" option. A window will pop up, where you should enter the required details such as the username and password. Confirm your password again, and then click the OK button below.
  • Congratulations! You have successfully created password protection for your directory.

If you wish to remove this protection, follow these steps:

  • Select the directory you want to remove protection from.
  • Click "Remove Protection" at the top.
  • Confirm the removal when prompted.
  • By following these steps, you can easily manage password protection for your directories within your eWallHost account.
