Follow the below steps to configure your domain for Google Email:
Setting Up Google Email Configuration
- Login to your cPanel account.
- Click the MX entry under the Mail section.
- Select the domain you want to configure for Google Email from the drop-down menu.
Changing Mail Routing:
- The mail routing was set to “local mail exchange” by default.
- Now you need to change it to Automatically Detect Configuration. By doing this, it ensures the upcoming MX records are utilized correctly.
Adding Google MX Records:
- Under “Add New Record,” input the MX records provided by Google one after the other.
- Enter the records according to the Google specifications as well as the destination address they provide.
- These records will be automatically assigned to the domain name you selected earlier from the drop-down menu.
Removing the default MX record:
- To complete the setup, remove the default MX record that was added to your domain.
- If no changes were made before, you'll find the default MX record with a priority of 0 pointing to your domain name.
By following these steps, you'll successfully configure Google Email (Gmail) for your domain through cPanel's MX Entry. This process ensures that your domain's email services are set up to work with Google's mail servers.
