How to create cPanel account?

The creation of a cPanel account was done through the WHM interface. Here's a general outline of the steps involved:

  • Login to the WHM (Web Host Manager) portal.
  • Search for the “Account Function” link; you can also use the search box to do a quick search.
  • Under the “Account Function,” click “Create New Account.” On the directed page, you have to fill in the necessary details about the domain information.
  • Under the “Domain Information” section, you have to enter your primary domain name for cPanel. Next, enter the username. When you click the box, WHM will suggest the username for you.
    • For this username, there are several factors to keep in mind before confirming it. The username should consist of 8 characters or fewer, but this varies on recently updated cPanel reseller accounts, and VPS or dedicated servers with the most current version of cPanel may create usernames of 16 characters or fewer. It must be a letter or a number; special characters are not allowed.
    • The next step is to set a password here. You have the option to create your password manually, and it has a password generator option that can generate a strong password for you.
    • Lastly, enter a valid email address where the WHM will notify you of account issues automatically.
  • Next, you have to select the package that defines the account limitation. There is a drop-down option available where you can select your package accordingly.
    • Below, you have two checkboxes: one is to manually select the package option, which allows you to edit the package option manually. The second option is to save manual settings as a package.
    • Next, you will see the package name and the options for the feature list. In the “Package Name” box, you can enter the desired package name. The “Feature List” defines which features are available to the users.
    • The other option is the manual restore option, which will appear when you select the option manually.
  • The next step is to configure the settings section. You must put a checkmark on “Select package options manually” under the Package section.
    • Under this, you have the option for a dedicated IP, shell access, CGI access, cPanel theme, locale, enabling Apache SpamAssassin, and enabling SPAM Box.
  • Following is the “Email Routing” setting, which allows how to route email for the new account. Under this, you have options to select, such as “Automatically Detect Configuration” (recommended), “Local Mail Exchanger,” “Backup Mail Exchanger,” and “Remote Mail Exchanger.”
  • If you want to resell the account, you can click on the option “Make the account a reseller.” If you want the reseller to own the account, you can click on “Make the account own itself.”
  • Next is the “DNS” setting, where you have a list of options to select. These options include enabling DKIM and SPF, using the nameservers specified at the domain's registrar, and overwriting any existing DNS zones for the account.
  • Once you have finished updating the necessary details, click the “Create” button to create your cPanel account.
  • If your account was created successfully, you will receive a confirmation message stating that your account has been created successfully.
